Ingredients

  • 1 lb. frozen peaches
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (add more if you prefer it extra sweet)

Instructions

  1. Combine & Heat: Place the frozen peaches, butter, and sugar in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 4 minutes.
  2. Stir & Finish Cooking: Stir the mixture well, then microwave for another 4 minutes.
  3. Season: Stir in a pinch of salt to balance the sweetness.
  4. Cool: Pour the mixture onto a pie plate to cool.
  5. Serve: Serve warm over cakes with fresh whipping cream or use it as a delicious filling for a peach cobbler.

Notes

Tammy’s Tips If you have leftovers in the refrigerator, the butter will naturally firm up, so be sure to give it a quick reheat in the microwave to melt it back down before serving. Cooling the topping on a pie plate is a great trick because it helps the syrup thicken up faster than it would in a deep bowl!
