- 40 oz. Can Bruce’s yams (with juice)
- 1/2 cup Salted butter
- 3/4 cup Self-rising flour
- 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar
- Ground cinnamon (for dusting)

Instructions
- Prep the Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Melt the butter and pour it directly into the bottom of a 2 or 2.5-quart casserole dish.
- Mix the Topping: In a separate bowl, whisk together the self-rising flour, granulated sugar, salt, and milk until smooth.
- Layer the Yams: Place the yams, along with their juice, into the casserole dish. Use a spoon to break the yams into smaller, bite-sized chunks.
- Season: Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the yams, then lightly dust them with ground cinnamon.
- Combine: Pour the flour and milk mixture over the top of the yams in the casserole dish. (Optional: Sprinkle with chopped nuts now if desired!)
- Bake: Bake at 350°F for about 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
