Ingredients

  • Pizza dough (fresh or refrigerated)
  • 1 cup breakfast sausage, browned and crumbled
  • Sliced pepperoni
  • Sliced mozzarella cheese
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 large egg + 2 Tbsp water (for egg wash)
  • Italian seasonings
  • Marinara sauce (for dipping)
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prep Dough: Roll the pizza dough into a rectangle and stretch it out thin.
  2. Layer Fillings: On one half of the rectangle, layer the sliced mozzarella, browned sausage, pepperoni, and a generous sprinkle of Italian seasonings and shredded mozzarella.
  3. Seal: In a small bowl, beat the egg and water to make an egg wash. Brush the edges of the dough with the wash. Fold the empty half over the fillings and seal the edges tightly by pressing with the tines of a fork.
  4. Egg Wash: Brush the entire top of the dough with more egg wash for a golden finish.
  5. Air Fry: Spray the bottom of the air fryer basket with cooking spray. If your bread is too large, slice it in half to fit. Cook at 380°F for 8 minutes.
  6. Serve: Let the bread cool slightly, then slice and serve with warm marinara sauce.
  7. Conventional Oven Method:
  8. Place on a greased sheet pan or parchment paper and bake at 425°F for 15 minutes.

Notes

  • Golden Crust Pro-Tip: For an even deeper golden crust, brush the top with egg wash again halfway through the air frying process.
  • Less Mess: Letting the bread sit for 2 to 3 minutes before slicing helps the cheese set slightly so it doesn't all run out.
  • Variations: Feel free to toss in some diced bell peppers or onions with the sausage for an extra burst of flavor!
