Ingredients
- The Flavor Base:
- 2 packages Orange Kool-Aid
- 2 packages Lemon Kool-Aid
- 4 cups sugar
- 4 cups water
- The Juice & Fizz:
- 2 (46 oz.) cans pineapple orange juice
- 2 quarts ginger ale
- The Creamy Finish:
- 1/2 gallon orange sherbet
Instructions
- Prepare the Base: In a large container or clean gallon jugs, combine the Orange and Lemon Kool-Aid packets with the sugar and water. Stir or shake until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Add Juice: Pour in the two cans of pineapple orange juice and mix well.
- Chill: Store this mixture in a sealed container in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.
- Assemble: When your guests arrive, pour the chilled mixture into a large punch bowl.
- Add the Sparkle: Gently pour in the 2 quarts of ginger ale to keep the fizz alive.
- The Finishing Touch: Just before serving, scoop the orange sherbet into the punch bowl. It will create a beautiful, creamy foam on top as it melts.
Notes
Tammy’s Tip: If you're hosting a large event like a wedding or reunion, you can make the base (Kool-Aid, sugar, and juice) a day ahead of time in gallon milk jugs. Just add the ginger ale and sherbet right at the party to keep it fresh and bubbly!
