Horsey Dipping Sauce - Master Cookbook Recipe # 3
This zesty, creamy sauce is a homemade version of the classic steakhouse or fast-food favorite. It has just the right amount of kick from the horseradish and a beautiful color from the paprika.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup light mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp horseradish (prepared)
- 1 Tbsp ketchup
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/8 tsp dried oregano
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine: In a small mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, horseradish, and ketchup.
- Season: Add the paprika, cayenne pepper, dried oregano, and a pinch of black pepper.
- Mix: Stir well until the spices are evenly distributed and the sauce is a consistent creamy pinkish-orange color.
- Marinate: While you can serve it immediately, letting it sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes allows the flavors to meld and the "heat" from the horseradish to develop.
Notes
- Adjusting the Heat: If you like it extra spicy, add an extra teaspoon of horseradish or another pinch of cayenne.
- Storage: Keep this sauce in an airtight container or a squeeze bottle in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
- Versatility: This isn't just for chicken! It’s incredible on roast beef sandwiches, as a dip for onion rings, or even dolloped on a baked potato.
