Ingredients

  • The Meat & Bind:
  • 1-1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 large egg
  • Half a sleeve Saltine crackers, crushed
  • The Flavor Makers:
  • 1 pack Lipton beefy onion soup mix
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 or 3 fresh green onions, diced

Instructions

  1. Combine: Place the ground chuck in a large bowl. Add the crushed Saltines, egg, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, black pepper, and diced green onions.
  2. Mix: Use a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or mix by hand until all ingredients are well combined.
  3. Shape: Divide the mixture into five equal portions. Shape them into patties approximately 3/4 inch thick.
  4. Bake: Place the patties on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  5. Check for Doneness: Ensure the steaks are cooked thoroughly and no pink remains in the center.
