This is recipe #283 in Tammy’s Master Cookbook.
Ingredients
- 1 box White cake mix
- 1 can Pie filling (your choice of flavor: cherry, blueberry, apple, etc.)
- 1/2 cup Vegetable oil
- 2 Large eggs
Instructions
- Mix Base: Preheat your oven to 325°F. In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
- Fold Fruit: Using a spatula, gently fold in the entire can of pie filling. Be careful to stir just until incorporated to avoid crushing the pieces of fruit. Ensure all the dry batter is well-blended with the filling.
- Bake: Pour the batter into a well-greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325°F for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 to 15 minutes before carefully loosening the edges and turning it out onto a wire rack.
- Frost: Once the cake is completely cool, frost it with Pudding Frosting (Master Cookbook Recipe #284).

Tammy’s Tips
This cake is so versatile! If you use cherry pie filling, it makes a beautiful pink cake that's perfect for Valentine's Day or showers. To keep the fruit from sinking to the bottom, make sure you don't over-mix the batter once the filling is added, you want those nice chunks of fruit scattered throughout every slice!
