Ingredients
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 3 Tbsp light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
Instructions
- Whisk: In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, light brown sugar, and onion powder. Whisk well until the sugar is fully incorporated and the sauce is smooth.
- Apply to Meatloaf: Spread the mixture evenly over the top of your meatloaf during the last 15 minutes of baking. This allows the topping to set and caramelize without burning.
- Alternative Use: This sauce is also delicious on hamburger steaks or as a topping for grilled hamburgers!
- Heating (Optional): If you are using this as a sauce for something other than a baked meatloaf, place it in a microwave-safe bowl, cover, and microwave for 1 minute before serving to meld the flavors.
Notes
Tip: If you like a little extra "zing," you can add a tiny dash of Worcestershire sauce or a pinch of mustard powder to the mix, but it’s perfectly delicious just as it is!
