Ingredients

  • The Meat:
  • 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1/2 lb. Italian sausage (Tammy uses Swaggerty’s Farm brand)
  • The Bind & Flavor:
  • 1 raw egg
  • 1 cup crushed croutons
  • 1/2 tsp Dale’s seasoning
  • 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • Optional Fresh Herbs:
  • 1 tsp fresh Italian parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Combine: In a large bowl, mix the ground chuck, Italian sausage, egg, crushed croutons, Dale’s seasoning, onion, and herbs until well combined.
  2. Shape: Form the mixture into small meatballs, approximately 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Skillet Method:
  4. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Brown the meatballs thoroughly on all sides.
  6. Drain any excess grease, then cover the skillet and simmer on low for 15 minutes to ensure they are cooked through.
  7. Air Fryer Method:
  8. Place meatballs in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  9. Cook at 350°F for 20 minutes.

Notes

Tammy’s Tip: If you prefer to use only beef, use 1 lb. of ground chuck and omit the sausage. Just be sure to add 1 tsp of Italian sausage seasoning to keep that classic flavor!
