Ingredients

  • Salmon Steaks (rinsed and patted dry)
  • Asian Sweet Red Chili Sauce
  • Olive Oil and Salted Butter (if using stovetop method)

Instructions

  1. Stovetop Method
  2. Prep and Sear: Follow the cooking method for Glazed Salmon Steaks by searing the fish in olive oil for 2 minutes on high.
  3. Simmer: Reduce heat to low, cover with a lid, and simmer for 8 minutes.
  4. Flip and Sauce: Remove the lid, flip the steaks, and add your butter. Instead of the syrup glaze, generously coat the steaks with the Asian sweet chili sauce.
  5. Finish: Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened.
  6. Air Fryer Method
  7. Cook: Place the seasoned salmon steaks in the air fryer.
  8. Setting: Use the "Air-Fryer Fish" setting.
  9. Sauce: At the halfway point of the cooking time, open the air fryer and coat the salmon generously with the sweet red chili sauce.
  10. Finish: Complete the cooking cycle until the salmon is flaky and the sauce is perfectly glazed.

Notes

Tammy’s Tips

This is now my absolute favorite way to eat salmon! The sweet chili sauce provides just the right amount of "zip" without being overly spicy. If you’re using the air fryer, adding the sauce at the halfway mark is the key,it gives the sauce enough time to get sticky and caramelized without burning. It’s a quick, pantry-friendly meal that tastes like you spent all day in the kitchen!
