Ingredients
- 1 boneless turkey breast
- 1 tsp poultry seasoning (Badia recommended)
- 1 tsp steak seasoning (Weber Steak-n-Chop recommended)
- 1 tsp McCormick poultry seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- Olive oil (for roasting)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for crockpot method)
- 1/2 cup salted butter (for crockpot method)
- 2 cups chicken broth (for crockpot method)
Instructions
- Oven Method (For a Crispy Finish):
- Prep: Preheat oven to 450°F. Combine the dry seasonings in a shallow dish. Rinse and pat the turkey breast dry.
- Season: Rub the turkey breast with olive oil, then coat thoroughly with the seasoning mixture. Insert a digital thermometer into the thickest part of the meat.
- Roast: Place the breast on a rack in a roasting pan. Bake for 20 minutes at 450°F.
- Finish: Reduce heat to 350°F and continue baking until the internal temperature reaches 170°F.
- Rest: Let the turkey stand for 15 to 20 minutes before carving to keep it juicy.
- Crockpot Method (For Shredded/Tender Turkey):
- Dredge: Combine seasonings with 1/2 cup flour in a dish. Roll the turkey breast in the mixture until well-coated.
- Assemble: Place the turkey in a lined crockpot. Add 1/2 cup salted butter and 2 cups chicken broth.
- Slow Cook: Cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours. Slice and serve with the flavorful drippings.

Tammy's Tips
For an even more aromatic bird, I love to use fresh herbs whenever they are available! Finely chopped thyme, rosemary, and fresh garlic are wonderful additions to your seasoning plate for both roasting turkey and prime rib. If you're doing the oven method, that 20-minute blast of high heat is the secret to getting a beautiful color on the outside while keeping the inside moist.
