Ingredients

  • The Meat & Spice Bowl:
  • 2 lbs. sirloin steak (sliced very thin, tip: freeze for 1 hour before slicing)
  • 1 garlic clove, pressed
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • A dash of salt
  • The "Liquid Gold" Sauce:
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 tsp beef bouillon granules
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • The Veggies & Oil:
  • 1 onion, cut into thin strips
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 1/8 cup olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prep: Have the spice bowl mixed, the "liquid gold" whisked together, and your veggies sliced before you begin cooking.
  2. Sear the Beef: Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, the contents of your spice bowl, and the sliced meat. Stir constantly for 2 minutes until browned, then transfer the meat to a platter.
  3. Steam the Veggies: Add the peppers and onions to the same wok along with 1/4 cup of the liquid gold sauce. Simmer on medium-low for about 5 minutes until the peppers are soft.
  4. Thicken the Sauce: Pour the remaining liquid gold into the wok. Turn the heat to high and stir until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  5. Combine & Serve: Add the steak back into the wok, toss to coat, and immediately remove from the heat.
  6. Enjoy: Serve right away over a bed of fluffy white rice.
