Corn on the Cob, Herb Butter - Master Cookbook Recipe # 656
Elevate your fresh corn with this simple but flavorful herb butter. By infusing room-temperature butter with your favorite salt-free seasonings and fresh herbs, you create a savory coating that caramelizes beautifully whether you're using the grill or the air fryer. This method locks in the moisture, making every bite of corn juicy and aromatic.
This is recipe #656 in Tammy’s Master Cookbook.
Ingredients
- Fresh ears of corn, shucked and silks removed
- 1/4 cup Salted butter (room temperature)
- 2 Tbsp Seasoning blend of your choice (no-salt)
- 1 Tbsp Fresh herbs (snipped chives, sliced green onion, or parsley)
Instructions
- Make the Herb Butter: In a small bowl, combine the softened salted butter, your choice of seasoning blend, and the fresh herbs. Stir until the mixture is smooth and the herbs are well-distributed.
- Butter the Corn: Rub approximately 2 teaspoons of the prepared herb butter over the kernels of each ear of corn.
- Choose Your Cooking Method:
- On the Grill: Wrap each buttered ear tightly in aluminum foil. Place the foil-wrapped corn directly on the grill. Cook for about 8 minutes, making sure to turn the ears once halfway through for even cooking. (Foil is optional if you prefer a more charred look, but it helps keep the butter on the corn!)
- In the Air Fryer: Place the buttered ears directly into the air fryer basket. Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 6 minutes.
- Serve: Carefully remove from the heat and serve immediately while the butter is melty and fragrant.
Notes
Using a salt-free seasoning blend allows the flavor of the fresh herbs and the natural sweetness of the corn to really stand out without being over-salted. If you’re grilling, the foil method is a favorite because it steams the corn in that delicious herb butter! This is a fantastic way to add a gourmet touch to your next cookout or a quick weeknight side dish.
