Ingredients

  • 3 cups Corn Chex™ cereal
  • 3 cups Rice Chex™ cereal
  • 3 cups Wheat Chex™ cereal
  • 1 cup mixed nuts
  • 1 cup bite-sized pretzels
  • 1 cup garlic-flavor bite-size bagel chips
  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
  • 3/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a very large bowl, combine the three types of Chex™ cereal, mixed nuts, pretzels, and bagel chips.
  2. Make Seasoned Butter: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or small saucepan. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
  3. Coat: Pour the butter mixture over the cereal mix. Toss gently but thoroughly to ensure every piece is evenly coated with the seasoning.
  4. Slow Bake: Spread the mixture onto two large baking sheets. Bake at 250°F for 1 hour.
  5. The Secret Step: Every 15 minutes, remove the pans and stir the mix. This is crucial for even browning and preventing the bottom from burning. Use two oven racks and swap their positions halfway through if possible.
  6. Cool & Store: Let the mix cool completely to room temperature. This is when it reaches its maximum "crunch." Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Stirring is Key: Don't skip the 15-minute stir! It ensures that the butter and spices are baked into every nook and cranny without making the cereal soggy.
  • Extra Flavor: For an extra kick, you can sprinkle a pinch of your favorite seasoning blend (like a little extra seasoned salt or a dash of cayenne) over the top just before putting it in the oven.
  • Perfect Gift: This makes a wonderful homemade gift during the holidays, just pack it into decorative tins or jars!
