- 8 oz. can water chestnuts, drained and chopped

- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 stick butter, melted

- Transfer: Spread the mixture evenly into a 9”x9” square or a 9" round baking dish.
- Add Topping: In a small bowl, toss the crushed saltine crackers and slivered almonds with the melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the chicken salad.

- Serve: Enjoy warm as a dip with crackers, or served on toasted bread for a delicious sandwich.
Notes
Tammy’s Tips Don't skip the water chestnuts; they provide a unique, crisp texture that stays crunchy even after baking, which really makes this dish stand out. If you're serving this as a dip for a party, try using butter crackers instead of saltines for an even richer, melt-in-your-mouth topping.
