The First of May with CVC
First Week of May 2019
The last few weeks have been busy on CVC! If you watch my videos you may know my Mother is ill. She is in a memory care facility and they have called in hospice. Our time has been taken up with her care. I have received overwhelming support and prayers from my CVC friends and family. I want to thank all of you for your comments. I cannot reply to each comment from Facebook and YouTube but I do read each one. I have also received many cards and letters of encouragement in the mail. It means so much to me and my family to know you are praying for us and thinking about us!
I was able to produce a few live videos on Facebook that we edited for YouTube as well.
The Strawberry Cake video https://youtu.be/d2DcfqBmzOk has really taken off! This is a cake that was very popular in the 70’s so many of you will remember your Mama or Grandmother making it when you were young! It is always a big hit at church potlucks and other events. It is easy to make and is served in a sheet pan so there are no special icing skills or decorating skills needed. Just check out the recipe and enjoy this cake mix shortcut Strawberry Cake that says “Spring is here”!
Another big favorite we made was a Bread Pudding. https://youtu.be/MjVJKQKaxV8 I made the same recipe from my Granny’s Cold Bread Pudding that used biscuits and replaced the biscuits with loaf bread. What a wonderful traditional Southern treat. We heard from lots of CVC friends who let us know they made bread pudding using croissants and cinnamon bread and other breads! Thanks for your feedback as always!
We picked up a lot of new subscribers so I want to address a question a lot of people have concerning some of the videos. Some of my videos are done with an expensive, high quality camera but many are produced live on Facebook with a smart phone. Some of those videos do not have an ending where we show the final product because they make take too long to cook or it may be something we eat later on! We always try to take pictures for the video or thumbnail! Since I make videos live so often we may not have a taste sequence. Many people are used to watching the 3 minute recipe edited videos but that is not what CVC is about. CVC is about how real people cook in a real kitchen. So there is more to it than just a recipe. I hope you enjoy that format because we use it a lot and enjoy teaching how it works in a real kitchen! So keep cooking like Mama did and enjoy Mother’s Day!
