I was born and raised in Collard Valley Georgia. It is a beautiful place with rolling pasture, fields, and cows. I enjoyed growing up and learned how to cook from my granny and my mom. I now live in Dallas, Georgia. I am married to a loving husband who was raised by loving parents. He allows me to be myself and volunteers for me to cook for his co-workers and friends. He has also learned how to cook some of my family favorites. I have two beautiful and smart teenage girls who want to be doctors. I plan on encouraging them and ask you to pray for their choices.
I am very passionate about baking and cooking. A passion that all my sibling’s share. My brother, a contractor, wants to eventually open a food truck and I hope he uses "Collard Valley Cooks" as the name. That is why I call it "Cooks" instead of Cook. My sister raises her children and works hard cleaning houses. Her company is called "THE ENCHANTED BROOM”. My older brother has bees and sells his honey in South Alabama as "A BEE FARM". My mom has severe dementia and is in a Memory Care Home near me. My daddy still has 100 acres in Collard Valley and works the farm. Thank you for reading about Collard Valley Cooks.
CVC - Cookbook Vol. 1
As I sat in my Livingroom on May 18, 2017 thinking about how I had survived cancer, I realized hadn’t taught my girls the ropes in the kitchen. I thought to myself “if this cancer comes back, will I have left anything to help my girls in the kitchen”. All I could think of was no. I then thought that maybe if I put my favorite recipes on video, my kids could go back in the future when they are ready and learn how to cook like their mama, grandparents, and great grandparents. That was it, I made my decision right then and there jumped out of the recliner and started videoing with my phone that day. I began posting video tutorials the next day on Facebook, and they were such a hit that I decided that I could teach more than just my kids to cook. I created a Facebook page, webpage and within a few months a YouTube page. It has been a blessing and something that I look forward to each and every day. My recipe fans began asking for a cookbook and because of their persistence and interest, my husband and I have put this together for you all!
CVC - Cookbook Vol. 2
Tammy started Collard Valley Cooks, CVC, in May 2017. Within four months she produced videos for over 100 different recipes and compiled them in CVC’s volume one cookbook. The success of the cookbook and YouTube channel rapidly exceeded our expectations. At that point we realized we needed to organize and form a company. Tammy has some physical disabilities, but she wanted to do what she loved most cooking and making videos for her viewers. This worked out, since I was soon to retire. I am presently editing videos, managing YouTube sites, cookbook sales and inventory, financial aspects, and consulting with Tammy in all phases of CVC. We love working together and have always been a team. Now we get to work together every day and have time to focus on the growth of CVC. Due to the support of our viewers, we felt it was time to produce this volume two cookbook. We hope this is a cookbook you will regularly use in your kitchen and keep cooking just “Like our Mamas did” making memories that last a lifetime.
